Campground – Good location for exploring the Columbia River gorge. It is a short walk to the town for restaurants or a haircut!
To Do:
A cliff where rock climbers practice can be seen from the campground. It is within a park. I took a drive to the park and hiked up to the cliff top.
We took the drive along the Columbia River and Gorge, stopping to see the many waterfalls. Multnomah Falls is the most visited natural recreational site in the Pacific Northwest with 2 million visitors yearly. It drops a total of 620 feet in two falls.
Multnomah Falls:
A long day drive took us along the Columbia River Gorge stopping at lookouts and other waterfalls.
We eventually swung south to reach 11,249' Mount Hood. There is a drive on the south side of the mountain that goes almost to the top to a ski lodge. From there we went west thereby circumnavigating the mountain. The best views of the mountain are from the southwest and west.
